Food Technology is part of the Technology Department which consists of: MVM, CDT, Design Technology, Painting & Decorating, Skills 4 Working Life, Bricklaying and Music.

Food Technology is a practical hands on subject with students having practical activities every other week. It is a very popular subject and since gaining `Technology’ status the subject has been focussed on providing skills to enable pupils to produce good healthy meals for themselves and others.  The `IMPACT’ this subject has had since gaining `Technology Status’ has been tremendous. We have achieved with close cooperation with our work experience and transition coordinators, Chef of the Year and Birmingham City College of Food & Tourism, we have currently 3 students following courses at the College of Food.

Our students regularly experience working with the school Chef to provide catering for meetings, open days etc at Hunters Hill. (See Photographs)
