Bricklaying is part of the Technology Department which consists of: MVM, CDT, Design Technology, Painting & Decorating, Skills 4 Working Life, Food Technology and Music.
Bricklaying is an integral part of our Key Stage 4 Curriculum – Skills 4 Working Life Programme, this course was initiated after we achieved our `Technology Status’ and was in place prior to the current emphasis on 11 – 19 Curriculum.
The impact of students following this course has resulted in a lot of success with our students continuing their studies in further education colleges and some have also gained acceptance with various training provides. Working with the schools extensive work experience programme it has expanded students career options.
- Pupils are expected to arrive on time, ready to work.
- Pupils are expected to follow all `Health & Safety’ regulations and use provided protective clothing and equipment with care.
- Pupils are expected to achieve 2/3rds of a level improvement each year during Key stage 3 and external accreditation from the courses provided in Key Stage 4.
